Christmas Loot!

The girls were S P O I L E D this year! We laughed about it that night after the day was done - we were in bed talking about how much we love the kids and how fun it was to see their faces on Christmas morning! It was pure joy!!! Gone are the days of spoiling each other - it's all about the kids now and it's the best present we as parents could have asked for - just to see the smile on their faces!! We had such a great Christmas and we are so thankful to be so blessed!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was so great! We made MAGIC REINDEER FOOD and we sprinkled it on our grass so that Santa and his reindeer would be able to find our house. We read from Luke II about Jesus being born and then daddy read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas'. We put out our sugar cookies and milk for Santa and some carrots for the reindeer. Evelyn was so excited it took us an hour to calm her down and finally get her to bed! She had the giggles and so much energy about it all that she just would not go to sleep! When we finally got her down we were listening outside her door and we heard her singing Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!! She was one excited little girl about Christmas!!!

Sugar Cookies

A whole entire post just for SUGAR COOKIES! This was a highlight during this Christmas season for Evelyn! She really got into the cookie decorating and became very focused and you could just see the creative juices flowing on her face! We had a ton of fun with Grandma and Grandpa making these cookies and it was even more fun to eat them! YUM!!

(and Claire...if you ever ask "Where was I mom?" - you were sleeping.)

Grandma and Grandpa's Visit

We absolutely loved having my parents at our house for Christmas this year! It was fun to share the season with them. We were spoiled rotten and had a lot of fun! Even though they live so far away, they have such a special bond with the girls that it seems like no time passes between visits - they just pick back up where they left off the last time they got to see eachother. It is very evident that the girls LOVE LOVE LOVE their Grandma and Grandpa!

Sledding...sort of

For the record...Claire is fine.

Oh the weather outside is...SNOWING!

We played hard in the snow today! We had fun sledding down our wimp of a hill in the backyard in a make-shift sled (laundry basket) and our fingers were cold and feet were numb when we came inside!

Evelyn and Claire were playing on the couch and Evelyn was the 'sick one' and Claire was "Dr. Brandon" (our pediatrition) and Claire was obviously using her 'Dr. Tools' to make sure Evelyn was ok.

Claire didn't like sitting on Santa's lap very much, but Evelyn LOVED it! When it was her turn she literally RAN into his arms and up into his lap!!! She talked to him and played with his beard and told him what she wanted for Christmas! It was adorable! In the video, Santa thought he heard her say that she wanted a penguin, but what she really said was "a PINK one". She has been asking for a PINK present this whole month! So as long as it is PINK - she'll be happy!!!
