I LOATH Laundry!

Unless my family is willing to run around naked...eh-em...then I am never going to get caught up on the household laundry!! Anyone else have this problem??? And it has gotten worse since we have been trying to potty-train Evelyn. She now hates her diaper and doesn't want to wear it so it ends up between the wall and the crib during nap time. She will strip down and stuff it down the crack and when I go into her room to get her up -she is butt naked! Not only is she butt naked, but she went to the bathroom AFTER she stripped her clothes off! I have washed her bedding every day for the last 5 days!!!!!!!!!! Will this ever end?!! I am hoping this afternoon's nap will be nice and dry.

Photo Dump!

So we've had our new laptop - I know, spiffy huh - for about a week now and we love it! We (meaning Gordon) FINALLY installed the software program for our photos to be taken off the camera. We have pictures since the end of February to go back to...so be prepared for a few pictures over the last several weeks!


First - it's all about Claire. Our little pun'kin is going on 5 months now. We can't believe how fast time is flying by. She is cooing and giggling and she smiles A LOT. Her head is full of fuzz and her eyes are still blue. She loves to watch her big sister and smiles at her whenever she sees her. She's a doll and we love her!!

Evelyn is our super star! She gets prettier every day - which terrifies her father! He says she's not allowed out until she's 30. She is going to break some hearts one day. We are working on potty training - which started out great, but when mom is cooped up and has to get out of the house we always have a set back. Oh well, I am in it for the long run! She is talking so much and is still getting into everything. She loves to help me bake or cook - she'll pull up a chair to the counter and get into the measuring spoons and cups and eat off all of them and say "mmmmm, delicious!" She sings to the hymns at church and loves "CLASSSSSS" as she calls it.



As you can see, we wouldn't trade our girls for anything in the world! We love them and we are loving this whole parenting thing!!

Day Two ...

Another successful potty training day! I am so proud of her!

I'm a big girl now!

Evelyn is such a big girl! We have been working on 'potty training' for the last several months and today was a huge milestone - she poo-pooed in the potty!!! I wish my reaction could have been caught on tape - as well as hers - but I was so excited and was clapping and jumping and giving her high fives - she was grinning from ear to ear too and wanted to see it and then said "good bye poo-poos" when she flushed it.
Over the last several months Evelyn would poop on command right before her nap, but I just couldn't get her to do it on the potty. She would stand in the corner and do it and then she would want to sit up on the potty after she had pooped. Today was a different story!! She is my big girl now!! Hopefully this is day one of many more poo-poos in the potty!!!!

What'chya doin'?

After dinner tonight we had a little left over ice cream cake from my birthday weekend and so we decided to finish it off. I was enjoying my yummy bowl of ice cream on the couch and Evelyn comes up to me and this was our conversation:

Evelyn - Mommy? What'chya doin?

Mommy - I'm eating my ice cream. What are you doing?

Evelyn - I pooping.


...All I could do was laugh out loud and try not to spit my ice cream out in the process!!!

Primary Prayers

I LOVED primary today! It started off with the cutest little kid giving the opening prayer. Let me just describe how cute he was - he's shortest in his class, bushy hair, square glasses and plaid shirt. Then he starts to climb up on the step-stool to stand up at the podium and the mike is off so he yells out - "isn't this thing 'possed to be on?" The primary president asks him to just pretend so he goes on with his prayer.
His prayer was so sweet - "...thankful for my mommy and my daddy. Thankful for people and that we are all different and I'm thankful for glasses to wear to help people who can't see..." So cute!
Then it was off to class. I only had three kids today and my buddy, Parker, volunteered to say the opening prayer for class. Short and ...sweet? This is how it went...
"Dear Heavenly Father, we're thankful for class today and we're thankful for the nachos and pizza that my family will eat during the Duke and Carolina game today. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

AMEN!

Birthday Eve

Tomorrow is my 29th birthday. I love birthdays - especially mine!! I don't know why - there's just something exciting and special to know that there is a day that is all about me!

It's my birthday eve tonight and I am giddy for tomorrow!!

Monkey Bread

My sister-n-law (you know which one you are) will be VERY jealous of us today because I broke out my bundt pans and I am making MONKEY BREAD!
If you want to come over, it will be ready in 2 more hours - hot and buttery out of the oven.
