CRASH!

My computer crashed. End of story. End of electronic journals. End of photographs taken from the last 8 years of my life - my love, my kids and their births, my trips and vacations, my family, my house...etc~End of it all. All of it...LOST. So sad.
So, if you are wondering where my posts are -- or if you have emailed me and wondered why I haven't responded -- it's because there is now this void on top of my desk. This empty spot that is now collecting dust. Until the old and dead can be salvaged or replaced, I am not sure when I can post again.

Note to all - back up your files. This can happen to anyone - even me - though I thought it never could have, never would have and it really never should have. Oh why did this happen and why was I not smart enough to back up so many important files???

So sad.

You can pay a ton on money and have all that info retrieved...really a ton of money but it sounds to me like it might be worth it to you. I always have all my pictures burned to a disc and I print them (well most of them.) Also you can go to a web site called blurb (something like that) and you can have your blog uploaded and made into a book. So sorry that happened to you.

Ohh Jamie that is terrible! I highly recommend an external hard drive. That is where I have all of my pictures. The best thing you can take the pictures where ever you like. But seriously Ryan said you most likely can get them back too.

Boy, I know how you feel! Our computer crashed about 4 years ago and I was devastated. I hope I don't add salt to the wound, but we were only capable of retrieving a few things. Most of it was gone. Then we worked off our laptop while saving for another computer and that crashed! Ugh...We learned our lesson the hard way. We promptly got an external hard drive to back everything up and we also save pictures on discs.

Hopefully, you'll have better luck at retrieving your past!

Oh no! I'm so sorry- I had my external hard drive crash about a year ago and I thought I had lost everything (it was for my laptop that had a 30gb hard drive so it was not a backup). Luckily, I had another hard drive that had most of my pictures, but I have a chunk of pictures from the end of summer to when I got a new hard drive that are gone. I still have it in hopes of being able to afford retrieval someday... and if you have a pc (I have a mac) it's a lot easier to retrieve stuff- there are all kinds of programs and people who do it around here. I now have a time capsule that automatically updates and stores what's on my computer every hour- it is the best thing EVER.
