Colorado Trip - Part FIVE ...The Campout!!!

At the very beginning of our trip, we arrived in Colorado on a Saturday morning. We went to breakfast with my parents and the kids and then we went to their house to hang out for a few days. My grandparents (dad's side) had come to Colorado to spend time with us too. My sisters were there with their families and we all had a nice few days together relaxing at the house. Then it was time to get the boat ready and leave for our camping trip. We left the house on Wednesday to go to Horsetooth Reservoir in Fort Collins, CO.
This campout was the highlight of the trip!

We rented an RV for the 'older' generation to sleep in and to stay cool in during the heat of the day and then we had a tent for me, Gordon and the two girls. Our tent was big enough for a queen size air matress, two pack-n-plays and our luggage. We roughed it in style!!! We camped right on the water and it was gorgeous and HOT weather the whole time.

The group that went up on Wednesday was our little family, my parents and my grandparents. Everyone else was arriving on Friday. So we got an extra day and a half to ourselves on the boat! It was awesome. I grew up with boating and skiing and back in the day I was PRO! Since then, I've had two kids and my body just isn't what it used to be so I was really nervous about getting back out on the water! I don't know who I was kidding - I got right back up on the ski, then I did the wake board, then I did the knee board...once a RIVER RAT - ALWAYS A RIVER RAT!! I still got it!! BOOO YA!

It was awesome. Since we've been married we've done several boating trips with my family so I have been able to share my passion of boating with Gordon. On one of our first trips on the boat, I taught Gordon how to get up and single ski. It was awesome. When he got out there to try, he also got right up and skiied perfectly! I was so proud of my baby!!!

Evelyn LOVED LOVED LOVED grandpa's boat! She got to drive in grandpa's lap and she loved to sit at the bow of the boat and feel the wind in her face and then she would yell "FASTER GRANDPA!" Adorable!

Once the rest of the group got to the campground we broke out the smores at the campfire and we all just had a great time together. We finally had to pack up and leave on Sunday morning. It was a LONG, but FUN & AMAZING campout with the family!!!!!!! Thanks mom and dad!!!!!!

Evelyn got her first 'real' hair cut at Grandma's house. We cut off about 3-4 inches!!! It was super long and getting tangled in everything!! She has the most beautiful blond hair for a two year old and I hated cutting it, but when it was all over I think it's cute and it's still pretty long.

Maddie is the puppy and she was chasing Evelyn because Evelyn had her toy. Evelyn wouldn't drop the toy so the dog kept chasing her - making Evelyn scream/laugh in hysterics!! She is laughing though!!!

Colorado Trip - Part ONE

Evelyn made herself right at home from day one in Grandma and Grandpa's bed. She would watch movies in there, snuggle up and read books and she would climb up there just to hide under the covers and giggle!

Aunt Jill is a keeper! Evelyn loved having girly time with Jill getting her nails painted. Jill had to work during the day and very frequently you would hear Evelyn ask "Where's Jill?!" She loves you Jill!!!

HOME SWEET HOME!

We are back in North Carolina - home, sweet, home!! I missed my husband dearly! It was wonderful to come home to a clean house with a beautiful vase of roses and a "I MISSED YOU SO MUCH" mushy love letter from him!!! Thanks babe!!
We took over 200 pictures so my challenge will be deciding what to post!! I will take some time and try to pick out some pics just to give you a taste of our trip. We had a blast and we enjoyed the family time so much. Sad to leave, but so glad to be home again where we belong!! Stay tune for Colorado Pictures to come!!!!!

Colorado! Here we come!

We're off for another Lindsay family adventure! We are going to Colorado to visit my family for some boating, camping, shopping, and LOADS of catching up!!! Can't wait to spend some time with everyone!! Be back in a few weeks!!

Rooms

Eight months into the year isn't too late to post pictures of rooms in the new house is it?? These are just pictures of the kids rooms and we haven't painted yet, but their rooms are still cute! Evelyn and Claire will eventually share a room with bunk beds - and then I will finally get my craft room!! We're girls, so we LOVE pink!! Notice the BIG GIRL BED!!! Evelyn's been in her bed for almost a month, and we lowered the mattress for Claire because she is standing and climbing in it now. Someone tell these kids to stop growing!

In the last 24 hours...

I have heard about or talked to at least 5 blogger friends who are going PRIVATE! Not to be a follower, but some things just aren't worth the risk of being public. Too much information, pictures, stories...etc about me and my family are on here and it's important to keep that valuable information safe and in my circle of trust - which means I am going private too!

When it rains...It pours

Life always finds its way to make things difficult sometimes!! This post is more for me to just vent about life right now and I know at the end of the day I really don't have it all that bad, but it just seems that everything piles up all at once for me and then hits me!

The other night, Claire had a fever and she was not a happy camper. Her fever lasted from about 4pm until about 2:30am - which was when she finally fell asleep. During that whole time she was crying and moaning and her little body was SO hot! Gordon finally went to bed around 1am and I stayed up with her for another hour and a half until she finally fell asleep. Since then, she is doing better with her temp, but still not sleeping!! Last night we were up again. We were actually on a date and my friend Mindy was watching the girls for me...and Claire went to bed just fine. We got home around 10:30 - stayed up a little late to visit and then when we went to bed was when Claire woke up!! WHAT?! That was around midnight and I got her up and she was warm again!! It took me until about 3am to sooth her and put her back to bed! I am exhausted!!

Another thing this week was that I had a dentist appointment and I was enjoying my cleaning when my dentist told me I have a cavity and I need to come back for a filling. What?! I am almost 30 years old and I am getting a cavity?? I also have known for a while that my wisdom teeth have been coming in, but couldn't do anything about it because I got pregnant with Claire and then I nursed her...but now that I am done I also scheduled an appointment with a surgeon to get X-Rays and then ... surgery! EEEK! Looking forward to that day- not really!!!!!!

But my biggest deal of this week was that I was finally taking action on something I noticed a while ago, but back then I was pregnant and then nursing so this was the first time I was able to address it...and my big deal is that I found a lump. I have been feeling a strange sensation in my right side of my chest and sometimes its a numbing feeling that extends all the way under and down my arm. I scheduled a mammogram for yesterday, but unfortunately, the person who scheduled me made a mistake and I my appointment had to be rescheduled to August 3. I am looking forward to finding some answers and hopefully some peace about what I have been feeling. Even just the thought of a cancerous possibility scares me. I hope and pray it is nothing.

With all of the driving back and forth to Dr appointments, I have had a lot of 'quiet' drive time to think and I have been thinking about my family and how much I love my husband. He is so wonderful and he takes such good care of me and our girls. He's been so supportive through my trials and challenges and every day I fall in love with him all over again! I love my kids. They are so beautiful to me and they make me so happy! Even though I remember life before they came when it was just me and my man, I wouldn't trade them for anything! I am truly blessed by my Heavenly Father and I am so glad I have been able to have those quiet times to reflect on my blessings and forget my trials. An old co-worker of mine once told me G.H.A.P. - God Has A Plan. I truly believe that whatever God's plan is for me, I will trust it and be blessed.

Zoo ...again!

We love having a membership to the NC Zoo!! We enjoyed our 2nd visit just as much as the 1st and it's a great filler for the day!!! The weather was perfect and the animals were lively! We took a lot more video this time than photos, but here's a few snapshots from our fantabulous day!

Claire Bear

Time is FLYING! Our baby Claire is 8 months old now!! She is so stinkin' cute! We love her to pieces and we can't seem to get enough of kissing her little round cheeks. She is ALL smiles and her bright eyes just make anyone who looks at her feel warm and fuzzy inside!! We love having her apart of our family!

The SUPER Slide!!

We went to A & L's house for the 4th and spent the day with their adorable family! They set up the SUPER SLIDE and it was tons of fun!! Evelyn has been down water slides and park slides before so we thought she would love this. We sent her slippin' and slidin' down the first time and she was thrilled! Then we sent her down a second time and she was...not so thrilled!! Two times down was her limit, Oh well!! Her cousins on the other hand sure had a blast going down - or being thrown down!! Big A grilled us amazing burgers and hot dogs and the kids devoured the watermelon bites! We had a great day! Thanks A & L!! We enjoyed our 4th of July with you!!!!
