We got a tent! Before we had kids Gordon and I used to camp all of the time, then kids came along and I wasn't up for camping with little people so young, besides that, we only had a two person tent and it literally was just that...a TWO person tent! So camping was a thing of the past...until now! We found a great tent at REI and we've been slowly adding to our camping 'gear' with things like sleeping bags for the kids, campfire chairs, a propane gas stove for cooking...it's been fun! It all got started when our friends invited us to go camping. Last time we were invited we made a day trip out of it...Claire was just a baby then and we had no camping gear so we just stayed for a few hours at a campground nearby...this time we wanted to camp! So we got the essentials and we were off!
We went to Morrow Mountain and had a wonderful wooded campsite. We found a great spot to pitch our tent and the fun began.
Gordon and the girls roasting marshmellows! YUM!
Bonnie boo getting ready to eat some dinner! She was great...until bedtime! ERGH!
Here's Greg! He slept in his hammock all night...I think he woke up with ice on his nose!!! It was that cold!
Evelyn and friend Clara early in the morning sitting by the fire trying to warm up.
me holding a freezing cold Bonnie - she couldn't stay warm no matter how many layers I had on her!! Claire also was freezing the whole night. But they were troopers and despite the bitter cold night, they were loving it!
Just a bunch of girls! There were two other families that camped with us and we all have a bunch of cutie pie little girls!! They all had a great time running around with each other and holding hands and we lined them all up on this log for a photo opp while on our hike around the lake. CUTE!
PS-This picture was snapped right before my Claire somehow flipped backwards off the log and crashed. She was ok, but that girl!!!!
There was a boat/canoe rental place at the end of our hike and for $5 we rented a boat for an hour to stroll around the lake. It was such a gorgeous day, we couldn't pass on being out on the water. Evelyn was gripping the edges with all her might and wouldn't turn around for a picture. She was a little nervous at the movement of the boat and was afraid of tipping. Claire...loved it!
